    How to use GROUND

    Build re-entry into the transition.

    1. 01

      Mist

Mist 6–8 inches from skin or fabric, or into the air.

    2. 02

      Orient

Let the scent land while noticing one thing you can see, feel, and hear in the present environment.

    3. 03

      Arrive

Use it at recurring transitions so the fragrance becomes a familiar cue for coming back to where you are.

    The conditioned response

The second bottle works better than the first.

Most tools work the same on day one as on day fifty. This one compounds. Spray it at the same kind of moment enough times and your brain starts firing the shift before the scent even lands, it’s learned what’s coming.

The acute response is there from day one. The conditioned one builds over weeks. There’s a reason the second bottle works better than the first. You’re not restocking. You’re reinforcing.

    Pilot study

    The results are in.

    79%
Said it did what it said at day 30—up from 56% on day one.(19/24; 14/25)
    88%
Felt an effect in under five minutes.(22/25)
    76%
Of daily users said the effects compound with consistent use.(16/21)
    88%
Reached for the mists for both scent and effectiveness.(22/25)

Self-reported pilot results across Aerchitect mists. Not a clinical trial. Response count varied by question.

    Formulation + how it's made

    Orientation first. Scent second.

A concrete point of contact with the present.

    Scent AERchitecture

Scent AERchitecture (n.) — the practice of designing scent around a mechanism rather than a mood. Conventional fragrance is built to smell good. A functional mist is built to do something: reach a specific receptor, shift a specific state. Scent AERchitecture is the discipline of choosing each note for what it acts on, then composing those actives into something you'd actually want to wear. Architecture, because it's structural. The scent is the finish, not the foundation.

    Key actives

Cedrol, from cedarwood → autonomic tone.
Published inhalation research examines cedrol’s action on autonomic markers, including heart rate and parasympathetic activity.

Linalool, from bergamot → GABA-A activity.
Bergamot-derived linalool has documented action in research examining the GABA-A system and limbic activation.

    Vetiver → orienting response.
Vetiver’s complex earthy profile creates a strong sensory cue that can redirect attention toward the immediate environment.

    Clean formulation

Formulated with the actives chosen for what they do, not just how they smell. No phthalates, no parabens, no synthetic musks, no synthetic fillers, and no dyes. Vegan. Skin-safe and space-safe for daily use on pulse points, linens, or into the air.

    Standards

IFRA compliant. Conforms to EU cosmetic safety regulations.

Aerchitect mists are cosmetic fragrance products, not medical devices, and aren't intended to diagnose, treat, or cure any condition. The mechanisms described draw on published olfactory and aromachemical research; they describe how the ingredients act, not a promise of clinical outcome.

    Choosing your state

    What is functional fragrance?

Functional fragrance is atmosphere by design. A fine fragrance composition created to support specific moments, such as quieting noise, sharpening attention, or anchoring you back into the present.

    Will it feel too strong?

Aerchitect is composed for near-field wear. If you’re scent-sensitive, begin with a single spray into the air and step into it, then adjust.

    What’s the difference between them?

They each have a different scent profile and purpose. CALM softens mental noise. FOCUS clears the fog and supports attention. GROUND steadies you and brings you back to yourself.

    Can I layer them?

Yes, that’s the idea, and many people do. Start with one to learn its shape, then layer intentionally: GROUND as a base, FOCUS for task mode, and CALM for downshifting.

How do I choose the right one?

If your mind feels too loud, choose CALM. If it feels too scattered, choose FOCUS. If you feel not quite here, choose GROUND.

    About functional fragrance

Is this just aromatherapy with a rebrand?

Aromatherapy makes a delivery-system claim: smell this, feel something. Functional fragrance names a pathway and selects compounds for their documented action on the nervous system.

Does scent actually do anything, or is it placebo?

Olfactory input bypasses the thalamus and reaches the amygdala directly. The compounds used have documented action on GABA-A, the HPA axis, and autonomic markers. The mechanism isn’t belief-dependent.

How is this different from regular perfume?

Perfume is formulated for projection and signature. Functional fragrance is formulated around compounds with documented physiological action, used at a specific moment to produce a specific shift.

How long does the effect last?

The acute shift initiates in seconds and persists for thirty to ninety minutes. Used consistently at the same moment, the spray becomes a learned cue and the conditioning compounds with repetition.

    Will it work on me?

The mechanism is universal. The most common cause of non-response is state mismatch: reaching for the wrong one for the state you’re in. The Mood Toolkit is the discovery format for that reason.

What’s in it? Is it safe?

The full ingredient list is on the page and the box. No synthetic musks, phthalates, or parabens. Wear it on skin or hair, mist it on linens, or use it as a room spray. If pregnant, nursing, or managing a sensitivity, check with your healthcare provider. Not formulated for ingestion.
